Sunday Oliseh praises Unai Emery as best coach in the world

By Monsurah Olatunji
Former Nigeria player and coach, Sunday Oliseh, has named Unai Emery as the best coach in the world after guiding Aston Villa to the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Emery, the former Arsenal boss, led Aston Villa to a penalty shootout victory over Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, marking the club’s first appearance in a European semi-final since 1982.
Aston Villa’s progression also makes them the only English team remaining in European competition, with other Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, and West Ham having been knocked out.
Emery has been instrumental in Aston Villa’s success and has also positioned them well for a potential UEFA Champions League qualification, with the club currently sitting fourth in the Premier League standings.
Reacting to a post on X praising Emery’s achievements with Aston Villa, Oliseh declared him the best coach in the world, stating: “Arguably the best coach in the world! Una Emery is simply phenomenal.”
