Nigeria’s senior men’s national team are once again champions of the Unity Cup after a 5-4 win on penalties over Jamaica in the final of the 2025 edition.
The encounter ended in a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes before a penalty shoot-out.
The three-time African champions went ahead twice before they were pegged back twice.
Captain Moses Simon broke the deadlock in the ninth minute before Kaheim Dixon equalized three minutes later.
In the 53rd minute, Samuel Chukwueze put the Super Eagles ahead, but they were pegged back once again 10 minutes later, taking the game into penalties.
It will be the third consecutive Unity Cup title for Nigeria after clinching the previous editions.
They edged Jamaica 1-0 to win the maiden edition in 2002 followed by victory over the Republic of Ireland two years later.
Competitors at the Unity Cup are countries with large diasporas in London.
