Super Eagles Legends and African Creatives Shine at Nike Homecoming Festival in Lagos

Lagos played host to a star-studded celebration of sport, fashion, and culture on Sunday evening as Nike held its highly anticipated Homecoming Festival. Among the notable figures in attendance were Super Eagles legends Jay-Jay Okocha and Obafemi Martins, whose presence underscored the event’s connection to Nigerian pride and global recognition.

The festival also marked the debut of the Nike x Homecoming Air Max Plus, a landmark sneaker co-designed by Grace Ladoja. Ladoja recently made history as the first African woman—and first Nigerian woman—to design a signature shoe for Nike, cementing her status as a trailblazer in the world of footwear design.

Yet, the event was more than a product launch. True to its “homecoming” theme, the festival celebrated African creativity on a global scale. Designers, artists, musicians, content creators, fashion insiders, and sneaker enthusiasts came together, transforming Lagos into a vibrant cultural hub. The gathering evoked the energy of a stylish family reunion, highlighting the growing influence of African culture in music, fashion, and art worldwide.

From exclusive sneaker drops to live performances, the Nike Homecoming Festival underscored the power of community and creativity, reaffirming Lagos as a key epicenter for Africa’s cultural renaissance.
