Super Eagles: Nathan Tella is a great addition – Victor Boniface

Bayer Leverkusen forward, Victor Boniface believes club teammate, Nathan Tella is a great addition to Nigeria following his call-up to the national team.

Tella was an unused substitute in the Super Eagles 1-1 draw against Lesotho in Uyo.

Boniface has described Tella as a fantastic player who should relate more with the fans and get along with the team, stressing that his teammate is a different breed from other wingers.

“He’s a good guy, a great player, and a fantastic player,” Boniface said on Oma Sports.

“I’ve been speaking to him since he joined Leverkusen and even before the national team call-up came and I told him he needs to relate with the fans. I told him he did well last season and if he’s quiet, nobody will see him, so he has to relate with them.”

“I’m really happy for him because he got the invitation and is a different type of player than other wingers. He’s more direct and I think he will bring some good stuff to the national team.”

Tella would be in line to make his debut for the Super Eagles against Zimbabwe on Sunday, November 19.

The former Southampton forward has scored one goal in six appearances for Leverkusen this season.
