Nigeria midfielder Onazi Ogenyi has been spotted training with Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Remo Stars ahead of the new NPFL season which kicks off on January 8.
The former Lazio midfielder failed to make a full recovery from an achilles injury in time to compete for the Super Eagles team that came third in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The 2013 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner who plays for Serie D side Casertana, like his club teammates, has been on holiday following a Christmas break the Italian lower divisions embarked upon from December 21.

Ogenyi Onazi in Remo Stars training
Remo Stars took to social media on Tuesday, sharing that the Jos-born ex-El Kanemi Warriors player was in Ikenne on a courtesy visit as they prepare to start their campaign with a home game against El Kanemi Warriors.
The club wrote in a Twitter tweet shared on their official page. “Training day but can you sight a guest on our turf??”
“Rightly so, @OnaziOgenyi paid a courtesy visit to our team’s training this Tuesday. Onazi, an AFCON winner with the Super Eagles shared moments with the lads before the session,” the second tweet reads.
The midfielder joined Casertana in August after a six-year absence from Italy, has made 11 appearances for his club.
Casertana will play its first match of the year on Sunday, and it is understandable that the 2013 African champion would be keeping himself fit ahead of his club’s meeting against SS Nola 1925.
