Super Eagles to reopen camp for Sao Tome and Principe clash on Wednesday

The Nigeria men’s national team will begin preparation for their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe in Uyo on Wednesday.
The camp was initially expected to open on Monday (today), but it has now been shifted to Wednesday.
Head coach Jose Peseiro has invited his 23-man squad for the game which is billed for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Sunday, September 10.
The former Venezuela national team coach has just extended his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and has also been handed a semi-final target in next year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which will take place in Ivory Coast in January 2024.
Meanwhile, the 63-year-old tactician and  already qualified Super Eagles must avoid defeat to be sure of topping the group ahead of second-placed Guinea Bissau.
Peseiro-led team currently sits top of Group A with 12 points from five games while Guinea Bissau, who are on 10 points plays at home to Sierra Leone in Bissau.
Nigeria won the last encounter between the two sides 10-0 at the Adrar Stadium in Morocco on June 13, 2022.
The invited players are expected to start arriving in the country in the early hours of Tuesday.
