Super Falcons’ allowance imbroglio: NFF dismisses FIFPRO statement

The Nigeria Football Federation has described a statement issued by world professional footballers, FIFPRO calling on the federation to pay Super Falcons as irrelevant.
Recall that the FIFPRO said it will assist the players of 11 times African champions to be paid their outstanding camp allowances by the NFF after their elimination from the 2023 FIFA World Cup on Monday.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the Federation, the football ruling body in Nigeria said it does not require an intervention of FIFPRO before fulfilling its promises to the players.
The statement also dismissed the body’s statement as a mere relevance-seeking message charging FIFPRO to stop playing the ostrich and stand up to its real responsibilities.
The Federation revealed that after all these years, FIFPRO does not have an affiliate body in Nigeria, while urging the global Players’ body to come to Nigeria and set up an affiliate body that can always and legitimately speak on behalf of Nigerian players, and made up of individuals who understand the culture and dynamics of Africa.
