Super Falcons: NFF plans another Women’s World Cup preparatory tour to Turkey

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that Nigeria’s women’s national team will participate in another preparatory tournament in Turkey.
In a statement on Monday, the NFF Executive Committee announced the Super Falcons continue their next phase of the Women’s World Cup build up with tournament in Turkey, two months after the Revelation Cup in Leon, Mexico.
“It was also pleased that the Falcons will be participating in another preparatory tournament in Turkey in April,” the statement read.
“The Executive Committee expressed delight that Nigeria will be participating in the Four-Nation Revelation Cup Tournament holding in Leon, Mexico 15th -21st February 2023.
“The Revelation Cup is meant to prepare the nine-time African Champions ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand during February international window for women’s football.”
The opening match of the Revelation Cup comes up against hosts Mexico at 4 pm Mexico time (10 pm Nigeria time) on Wednesday, 15th February, three hours after the opening match between Costa Rica and Colombia.
On Saturday, 18th February, the Falcons will be up against Colombia at 1 pm Mexico time (7 pm Nigeria time), before Costa Rica square up against the host nation.
Costa Rica will be Nigeria’s last opponents as both teams locking horns from 5 pm Mexico time (11 pm Nigeria time) on Tuesday 21st February, before hosts Mexico and Colombia draw the curtain on the four-nation tourney.
At the  2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Super Falcons will face Australia, the Republic of Ireland, and Canada in the group stage. They will hope to surpass the team’s best ever performance by breaking the quarter-final jinx since USA 1999 where Sissi’s golden goal for Brazil ruined the dream of the former African champions.
Randy Waldrum’s side will hope to match or surpass that feat this year, recounting the abundance of talents in his kitty.
