Super Sand Eagles Face Tough Test in International Beach Soccer Cup Draw

Nigeria’s beach soccer national team, the Super Sand Eagles, are set for a stern challenge after being drawn against strong African and European opponents in the upcoming International Cup tagged “One Humanity Cup”.

The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed the draw via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, revealing that Nigeria will compete in a four-nation tournament alongside Ghana, England, and Germany.

Scheduled to take place from May 8 to May 10, 2026, the competition is expected to serve as a key preparatory platform for the Nigerian side ahead of major international beach soccer engagements.

The Super Sand Eagles will go head-to-head with Ghana’s beach soccer team, as well as formidable European sides from England and Germany—fixtures that promise to test the team’s tactical strength, fitness, and overall readiness.

The tournament offers Nigeria a valuable opportunity to gauge its progress against high-level opposition from both Africa and Europe, while also building cohesion and experience within the squad.

Nigeria is the second most success Beach soccer national team in Africa with two BSAFCON titles behind Senegal.

After faltering in 2024 BSAFCON Qualifiers to Mauritania, they hope to return to the tournament with Qualifiers this year.
