Nigeria forward, Gift Monday added her name to the array of Super Falcons players on a scoring spree this week ahead of the crucial CAF Women’s Olympics Qualifiers against South Africa next week.

Uchenna Kanu, Jennifer Echegini, and Toni Payne were earlier on target for the respective clubs ahead of their departure to the Nigeria camp for the doubleheader showdown with Banyana Banyana on April 5 and 9 respectively.

On Sunday, Monday joined the fray with a goal and an assist for Spanish top-flight side, Costa Adeje Tenerife as her Club edged Huelva 2-1.

The visitors had to come from a goal down after Japanese player, Miku Kojima scored the openers in the fifth minute at the Campo de CD Lamiya, Huelva.

The Sporting’s lead extended into the mid-second half as the Robo Queens product was introduced on the hour mark as Jassina Blom  replacement and it took her just four minutes to level for the team.

Gift also set up Augustine Barroso for the winning goal in the 76th minute. The goal increased her tally to five after 20 games played in the league this season as she also bagged her first league assist.

Her compatriot who will travel with her to Nigeria for the Olympics Qualifiers against South Africa, Rinsola Babajide saw 83 minutes of action before she was replaced by Maria Perez.

Costa Adeje Tenerife occupies the ninth position with 27 points after 22 games and will next host Madrid CFF on March 14, 2024.
