Chuba Akpom scores twice in Ajax’s humbling of PEC Zwolle

Nigerian striker, Chuba Akpom inspired Ajax to a commanding 3-1 victory over PEC Zwolle in the Dutch Eredivise encounter on Sunday.
The experienced forward who has being in sparkling form recently was a menace to the hosts’ defense.
It was Kristian Hlynsson who opened the scoring for Ajax in the opening 12th minutes before Akpom doubled the advantage in the 24th minute when he initiated a one-two with Mika Godts before driving the ball past a Zwolle defender and into the net.
PEC Zwolle halved the deficit in the 72nd minutes with substitute Filip Krastev slamming home a lose ball from closed range.
The former Middlesbrough striker took the game beyond reach of the hosts with his second and third goal for Ajax with six minutes to end the game.
He was unable to complete the match as he was replaced by Julian Rijkhoff due to injury but wouldn’t stopped him from winning Man of the Match award.
With the brace at the match, Akpom has now scored 89 professional goals in his career with 13 for Ajax already adding to 29 scored while PAOK Saloniki, 34 at Middlesbrough, seven at Hull City and six while at Saint Truidense.
