Taiwo Awoniyi ranked third most valuable Premier League signing of the season

Nigeria international, Taiwo Awoniyi has been ranked as the third most valuable signing of the 2022/23 Premier League season according to data from Live Football Tickets.
These statistics were compared to the player’s transfer fee to create a ‘price per goal’ and ‘price per completed tackle’ metric to conclude who among the best-performing signings have the best value.
Carlos Vinícius ranked first on the list costing Fulham £863,435 per goal. The Brazilian striker was signed for just over £4.3 million and has bagged five Premier League goals this season, averaging 0.41 goals per 90 minutes.
Second on the list is Manchester City’s red-hot goal poacher, Erling Haaland, with a £1,439,058 per Premier League goal. Signed for a whopping £51.8 million, the 22-year-old scored 36 goals which is more than anyone in the history of the league.
Nottingham Forest would have been relegated from the Premier League without the priceless goals of Taiwo Awoniyi.
The 25-year-old scored 10 goals for Forest, earning Steve Coopers’ side 13 points and vastly improving their league placing to 16th in the log with 38 points.
Signed from Union Berlin for £20m, Awoniyi cost £1,770,042 per Premier League goal averaging 0.64 goals every 90 minutes played.
