Tenerife’s Gift Monday promises more after brace sink Atletico Madrid

Nigeria forward, Gift Monday has expressed delight after her first brace of the season silenced Rasheedat Ajibade’s Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Liga F encounter.
The UDG Tenerife striker scored two goals to lead her side to an emphatic win against Las Colchoneras on Sunday.
The Super Falcons striker is pleased to take advantage of the opportunities when it arrived, while setting her a personal target of aiding her club to win matches anytime the opportunity arises.
“My brace against Athletico Madrid I think was at that moment everything my team needs to be ahead of Atletico Madrid, and I was happy that when the opportunity came for me, I was able to use it positively,” Monday told Nigeriafootball.ng exclusively.
“My personal target this season is to keep helping my team win anytime I’m been given the opportunity to play.”
Monday joined Tenerife from NWFL Premiership side, Robo Queens in 2022 after having an illustrious career in Nigeria as she clinched the highest goal scorer award twice on a row.
She captained Nigeria to win gold at the All Africa Games in 2019 and ending a 12 years wait for the gold in women’s football.
