Terem Moffi battles Archaf Hakimi, 9 others for prestigious Marc-Vivien Foé award

OGC Nice striker, Terem Moffi as well as PSG’s Archaf Hakimi have been shortlisted with 9 others for the Marc Vivien Foe Award in the French Ligue 1.
The Marc-Vivien Foé medal is an annual award that honors the top African player in Ligue 1. The Nigeria international who started the season with Lorient has been in scintillating form in front of goal, scoring 16 goals and providing 2 assists in 31 appearances in the domestic league.
The 23-year-old made a loan move to OGC Nice in January, and he has continued his impressive form since then, scoring four of his 16 goals for his new club in eight appearances. and 19 goals in all competitions this season.
He also recently hugged the headlines when he scored an overhead kick to silence FC Basel supporters at home, giving him three goals in the Europa Conference League.
However, he will have to compete against Achraf Hakimi (PSG), Yunis Abdelhamid (Reims), Mama Baldé (Troyes), Mohamed Camara (Monaco), Habib Diallo (Strasbourg), Seko Fofana (Lens), Chancel Mbemba (Marseille), Marshall Munetsi (Reims), Salis Abdul Samed (Lens), and Hamari Traoré (Rennes).
The award is open to players who have played for an African national team and have not changed their nationality since then and have played at least 15 matches in Ligue 1 this season.
Meanwhile, a jury of nearly 100 former players and journalists specialized in French and African football will choose the winner which will be announced on May 30th.
This is not the first time a Nigerian player has been shortlisted for the Marc-Vivien Foé Prize as Vincent Enyeama and Victor Osimhen are the only Nigerians to have won the award during their time at LOSC Lille in 2014 and 2020 respectively.
