Terem Moffi Joins FC Porto on Loan From OGC Nice

Nigerian international striker Terem Moffi has completed a loan move to FC Porto from French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice, with the agreement including an option to buy at the end of the season. The forward will wear the iconic blue and white jersey with the number 29.
Born in Calabar, less than 40 kilometres from the Cameroon border, Moffi left Nigeria at just 17 to pursue his football career in England with Buckswood Football Academy. He later began his professional journey in Lithuania, featuring for Žalgiris Kaunas and FK Riteriai, where his prolific form — 20 goals in 21 league games — quickly drew attention across Europe.
That scoring run earned him a move to Belgian side Kortrijk. Although his time in Belgium was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Moffi still impressed, scoring six goals in 11 matches before securing a transfer to French club Lorient.
Moffi made an immediate impact in Ligue 1, scoring on his debut and going on several scoring streaks. He finished the 2020/21 season with 15 league goals, form that earned him his first Super Eagles call-up under Gernot Rohr. He made his Nigeria debut in June 2021 against Cameroon and has since shared the national team dressing room with FC Porto defender Zaidu Sanusi on multiple occasions.
After continuing his rise with Lorient, Moffi moved to OGC Nice during the 2022/23 season. There, he enjoyed his most productive spell yet, scoring 20 goals and registering six assists, including 11 goals under current Porto head coach Francesco Farioli. At Nice, he also formed an effective partnership with Pablo Rosario.
Despite a more modest return this season — three goals in 15 appearances — Moffi now reunites with Farioli at FC Porto, a familiar environment for the striker, who featured in Nice’s 3–0 defeat at the Estádio do Dragão in November.
The 1.88m left-footed forward is expected to add physical presence, finishing quality, and attacking depth to Porto’s squad as they push for success domestically and in Europe.
