Terem Moffi Targets Silverware After FC Porto Switch, Hails Farioli Reunion

Terem Moffi says he is determined to rediscover his joy for football and help FC Porto compete for trophies after completing his move to the Portuguese giants.

Speaking after signing his contract, the Nigerian striker stressed that happiness on the pitch brings out the best in his game, as he looks to make an immediate impact in blue and white.

“I am a player who loves to be happy playing football. When I feel like that, nothing else matters, I am at my best,” Moffi said. “I love scoring goals, working for the team and helping my teammates, as well as interacting with the fans.

“I feel very proud to be here. Wearing the colors of this Club means a lot to me and I can only thank the president, the coach and the fans.”

The 25-year-old acknowledged Porto’s winning tradition and the responsibility that comes with representing one of Europe’s most decorated clubs.

“Everyone knows FC Porto, a Club that fights to win games and trophies in Europe and in Portugal. I know how important that is for the fans, for the Porto family, so it’s very good to be here,” he added.

Moffi will also reunite with former OGC Nice coach Francesco Farioli, a relationship he believes will be key to his development.

“We worked together two years ago and coach Francesco Farioli is someone who likes to focus on the small details,” Moffi explained. “He focuses on those details to make you evolve. When he left, he went to Ajax and had a great season there, now at FC Porto he is also doing something extraordinary, so he has all my respect and consideration.”

The agreement includes an option for FC Porto to permanently acquire the striker’s sporting registration and 100 percent of his economic rights for a fixed fee of €8 million, plus up to €250,000 in performance-related add-ons linked to collective and individual objectives. Should the move be made permanent, OGC Nice will retain a 10 percent sell-on clause on any future profit.

Moffi has been handed the number 29 jersey and will be hoping to quickly win over the Dragões faithful as he begins a new chapter in his career.
