Terem Moffi wins UEFA Europa Conference League Goal of the Week

By Monsurah Olatunji

Nigeria international Terem Moffi has won the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) goal of the week award after his worldie overhead kick against Basel on Thursday night.
The Super Eagles striker netted twice as OGC Nice held Basel to a 2-2 draw in the first leg of their quarter-final clash at St. Jakob-Park.
Moffi first restored parity for Nice in the 38th minute after Zeki Admouni had put the home side ahead in the 26th minute.
However, the Nigerian stole the show with a stupendous overhead kick in the 45th minute to put Didier Digard’s men ahead at half-time.
The 23-year-old was out of position when Gaetan Laborde sent a cross into the area, but he quickly improvised and struck the ball with an overhead bicycle kick to get his second goal of the game.
A spectacular goal that astonished fans and has now been voted the goal of the week, beating strikes from Majeed Ashimeru for Anderlecht against AZ Alkmaar, Jonathan Ikone’s finish for Fiorentina against Lech Poznan and Hugo Cuypers’ goal for Gent against West Ham.
Moffi has now scored three goals in three Conference League games for Nice, including the two he scored against Basel on Thursday night.
