Nigeria forward Tolu Arokodare is poised for a new chapter at Wolverhampton Wanderers following the appointment of Rob Edwards as the club’s new head coach.
Edwards, who has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract, begins his fourth tenure at Molineux, replacing Vítor Pereira, who was dismissed after a challenging start to the 2025–26 campaign that saw Wolves go winless in their first ten matches.
A familiar figure at Wolves, Edwards arrives with extensive experience and a reputation for player development.
Throughout his coaching career, he has worked with several Nigerian internationals, including Samuel Kalu, Maduka Okoye, William Troost-Ekong, Emmanuel Dennis, and Gabriel Osho.
This connection with Nigerian talent could prove significant as he embarks on his mission to stabilize and rejuvenate Wolves.
The 42-year-old arrives from Middlesbrough, where he led the club to a second-place finish in the Championship, before returning to Wolves with the task of instilling consistency and attacking creativity into a team that has struggled this season.
Arokodare, who joined Wolves earlier this year, is currently on international duty with Nigeria in Morocco ahead of Thursday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff semifinal against Gabon.
After the international break, the towering striker will link up with Edwards and the new coaching staff, eager to make a strong impression and secure a key role in the club’s rebuild.

His extensive experience and expertise led to his appointment to the Nigeria Football Federation's Standing Committee on Women's Football Development from 2016 to 2018. Since February 2018, Samuel has been the Social Media Manager for Nigeria's women's national teams.In 2019, Samuel joined the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as a women's football content contributor and was promoted to Women's Football Editor in 2021. His contributions to women's football continued as he worked as a Media Consultant for Content Creation and Editorials at the 2022 CAF Women's Champions League. Currently, Samuel also serves as the spokesman for the Nigeria Women Football League, further solidifying his influence and dedication to the growth of women's football in Africa.
