Toni Payne nets second goal of the season in Sevilla loss at Atletico Madrid

Nigerian forward, Toni scored her second league goal of the campaign as Sevilla FC succumbed to a 2-1 loss against Atletico Madrid in a Spanish Liga F encounter on Saturday.

Leicy Maria Santos Herrera opened the scoring in the 35th minute of play from Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic’s assist.

Payne, however equalised in the 55th minute but Herrer completed her double of the match in the 79th minute to condemn Sevilla to their third loss of the league campaign.

Payne played the duration of the game as she scored her second goal of the season plus an initial assist.

Her compatriot, Rasheedat Ajibade saw 79 minutes of action before she was replaced by Lucia Moral.

The win lifted Atletico Madrid to the top of the log with ten points.

Sevilla seats in the ninth position with three points after four games.
