By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria forward, Toni Payne scored a goal as Sevilla played out a 1-1 draw with Athletic Club in a  Spanish Liga F encounter on Sunday.

Sevilla started the game on the front foot before Athletic got their foot on the pedal as a free kick was headed to the path of Naia Landaluce who nodded the ball into the back of the net in the 34th minute.

Payne found the breakthrough and leveled for the hosts in the added minutes of the first half in an exquisite manner.

The Super Falcons star dribbled past the Athletic Club goalie outside the box before putting the ball into the net.

The Nigeria international lasted the entire duration of the match and received a yellow card in the 77th minute.

The goal was Payne’s third in the league this season and has also bagged two assists for Sevilla.

Sevilla FC occupy the sixth position on the log with 19 goals after 12 games.

The team will next face their first league game in the new year against Huelva before a clash with Las Planas in the Copa de la Reina.
