Toni Payne bags fifth WSL assist as Everton beat Liverpool in Merseyside derby

Nigeria star, Toni Payne had an assist to help English Women’s Super League (WSL) outfit, Everton FC to a 2-0 win at Liverpool on Sunday.

Katja Snoeijs opened scoring for the Toffees in the seventh minute at the Birkenhead.

In the 63rd minute, Everton coach introduced Payne for Kelly Gago and the decision led to the second goal.

The substitute set up Karen Holmgaard who converted the second goal for the travelers securing a Merseyside derby win.

The former Sevilla FC player has scored a goal with five assists for the Toffees this season in 21 games.

Everton occupy the eighth position on the log with 23 points from 21 matches.

They will wrap up their league campaign against Tottenham Hotspur.

Holders, Chelsea FC retained the title last week under new manager, Sonia Bompastor.
