The head coach of Rivers Angels, Tosan Blankson says his team is ready for their opponents when they face Bayelsa Queens on Wednesday.

The Port Harcourt-based side welcomes their neighbors, Bayelsa Queens, in the Matchday five fixture.

The top-of-the-table clash has been one of the most famous derbies in the league.

“We’re ready for whatever Bayelsa Queens throw at us,” declared head coach Tosan Blankson.

“My girls are mentally and psychologically prepared to take on the challenge.

“We appreciate the maximum support from the fans and good people of Rivers State. We need them to cheer us on to victory on Wednesday.”

Since 2021, both sides have met 11 times in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership, with the Prosperity Girls winning five of those games while four games have gone the way of the Jewels of Rivers.

Two out of their last three games have ended in 1-1 draws setting this clash up for a titanic encounter.
