Super Eagles’ striker, Paul Onuachu could be nearing end of his stay with Belgian giants, Genk if the information coming from the club is anything to go by.
Genk’s Sporting Director, Dmitri De Conde recently disclosed that the club won’t come the way of Onuachu if he decides to leave but must be a right offer that will please both parties.
Conde admitted Onuachu deserves a better league due to his qualities and current form and the club are set to cash in on him with right deal in January.
“Onuachu’s situation remains something special,” De Conde said.
“At his age, you never know what will happen. If an offer comes, we can’t just block it. But then Wouter (Genk’s Coach) and I will do everything we can to convince him to stay.”
The 28 year-old has 14 goals in 15 appearances for Wouter Vrancken’s side this season and he’s attracting interests from a number of clubs.
A source in Belgium revealed that Genk will let Onuachu leave for a deal around £25m. The former Midtjylland player has been linked with Fiorentina, Arsenal, West Ham, Lyon and Atletico Madrid but nothing has materialized.
