Trelleborgs FF sign long-term contract with Abel Ogwuche

By Olu Dare

Swedish elite division side Trelleborgs FF have confirmed the signing of Abel Ogwuche from Nigerian side Tripple 44 Academy.

The Nigeria youth international joined the European side on a four-year deal from the Ibadan based outfit, with the option of extending his contract.

“Abel has shown a rising development curve throughout the year and we have now agreed with his club Tripple 44 on a transfer and then also agreed with Abel on a long-term contract in TFF, says  sports director Salif Camara Jonsson.

“We are happy about a very good cooperation throughout the year with Tripple 44 and I was down and greeted them a little while ago and they showed a lot of appreciation for how we took care of Abel which was very gratifying to hear.

“In Abel, we get a tall center back with substantial upside in both aerial and duel play. We see a very big potential in him but it is important to remember that he still has things to develop.

“We have had a good training plan for him this season, just as we will continue to have and we are very happy that he will continue his development in Trelleborgs FF.”

During Superettan 2022, Ogwuche made three starts and played four times as a substitute, while he also featured for the club’s U19 and U21 teams.
