Turkish journalist Adnan Aybaba has shared insights into a recent conversation with Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen regarding his future and potential move to Besiktas.
Osimhen, who is currently on a season-long loan with Galatasaray, has been linked with several top clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and PSG.
Despite these rumors, Galatasaray is reportedly interested in making his loan deal permanent, and rival club Besiktas has also been rumored to be considering a move for the 25-year-old striker.
However, Osimhen has expressed his happiness at Galatasaray, where he has been in scintillating form, scoring 12 goals across all competitions.
In a conversation with Aybaba, who spoke to the striker through his translator, Osimhen was clear about his commitment to his current club. When asked if he would consider joining Besiktas, Osimhen firmly responded, “I won’t.”
Aybaba went on to reveal that Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk, who had previously traveled to Italy with the club’s executives to negotiate a potential deal for Osimhen, has been working hard to convince the forward to stay.
Buruk reportedly told Osimhen, “Stay here, let’s be a family. After Mauro Icardi gets better, you will play with him, you will achieve great success.”
Osimhen responded positively, emphasizing the strong bond he has developed with the club, saying, “I came here on loan, but there is a great friendship. It feels like I have been in Istanbul for 10 years.”
With this clear indication of his affection for Galatasaray, Osimhen appears committed to continuing his journey with the Turkish giants, despite interest from other clubs.
