U-17 AFCON: Golden Eaglets to know foes on Wednesday

The final draw for the U17 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) will take place on Wednesday, February 1, at 11:00 GMT at the Cercle National de l’Armée in Algiers, Algeria.
Five-time World Champions, Nigeria, and 11 other countries energing from different zones as zonal Champions ahead of the Wednesday’s draw.
Host, Algeria, Morocco, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Somalia, South Sudan, Zambia, South Africa, Cameroon, and Congo are the other countries.
The U-17 AFCON will be held in Algeria from April 29 to May 19, 2023, in the cities of Algiers, Constantine, and Annaba. The three cities are currently hosting the 2023 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Golden Eaglets coach, Nduka Ugbade has invited 48 players to camp in Abuja ahead of the U-17 AFCON with the Magnetic Resonance Test (MRI) in view.
The invitees included most of the bunch that won the West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU-B) U17 Championship in the Ghanaian city of Cape Coast last summer.
Nigeria are five-time champion of the FIFA U17 World Cup after triumphs in China in 1985, Japan in 1993, Korea Republic in 2007, United Arab Emirates in 2013 and Chile in 2015.
