U20 AFCON: Nigeria silence Mozambique to seal quarterfinal berth

Flying Eagles defeated Mozambique in their last group A game 2-0 to reach the quarter final of the U20 AFCON in Egypt.
Before the game, the Flying Eagles had a defeat to Senegal and a win over Egypt, leaving them with three points from two games and knowing a win against Mozambique will secure their place in the final eight of the tournament.
Nigeria dominating proceedings in the first half and got rewarded in the 33rd minute with a swift finish from Samson Lawal before Ibrahim Muhammed sealed the Flying Eagles victory in the 41st minute with a fine finish.
With the victory, Nigeria ended in the second position with six points from three games, behind leaders Senegal, who earned a 4-0 win over hosts Egypt to advance to the quarter final.
The Ladan Bosso tutored side will face the winner of ground B in the quarterfinal, with Uganda and Congo tied on four points at the top of group B and a win or draw for either side will send them to the last eight.
