Uchendu out, Monday, Oparanozie in as Waldrum names Nigeria squad for Turkey camp

Head coach of the Nigeria women’s football national team, Randy Waldrum has named a powerful 23 players, without  Chinaza Uchendu for the international friendly matches against Haiti and New Zealand in Turkey.

Sources informed NigeriaFootball.ng, that the Gyeongju KHNP striker, who has been out of the national team radar since the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, was on the squad for the camp but was later left out for unconfirmed reasons despite being contacted for the camp.

Meanwhile, Tenerife forward, Gift Monday and Wuhan striker Desir Oparanozie made their returns to the Super Falcons setup after their names went missing from the February roster for the Revelation Cup in Mexico.

The nine-time African champions will trade tackle with the Haitians women’s football team on the seventh of April at the Emri Sports Complex in Antalya, Turkey.

While the Mardan Sports Complex will host the match between Nigeria and FIFA Women’s World Cup co-host, New Zealand on the 11th of April.

Waldrum will be looking at changing the fortunes of the Super Falcons following recent below par performance as the lined up friendly matches will further strengthen the squad ahead of the global showpiece.
