UCL: Oliseh hails PSG’s “gold-worthy” performance in comeback win over Barcelona

By Wale Mustapha

Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has lauded Paris Saint-Germain’s comeback victory over Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, describing the performance as “worthy of gold.”

The reigning European champions came from behind to claim a crucial 2-1 win at Camp Nou on Wednesday night, maintaining their perfect start to the title defense.

Barcelona took an early lead through Ferran Torres, who finished off a cross from Marcus Rashford.

However, PSG responded in style as teenage forward Senny Mayulu drew the visitors level following an impressive team move orchestrated by Nuno Mendes.

The decisive moment came in stoppage time when substitute Gonçalo Ramos latched onto a perfectly weighted pass from Achraf Hakimi to seal the victory for the French giants.

Reacting to the match, Oliseh took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to praise PSG’s tactical execution and resilience, despite being without three key starters.

“With a depleted team lacking 3 world-class starting players, PSG’s performance yesterday vs Barcelona was simply worthy of gold!” Oliseh wrote.

“The management of the periods, gradual ascension, tactical deception, and total ‘antidote’ body positioning to Barca’s tactics was just unprecedented. I had a blast! Bravo to Luis Enrique as PSG coach!”

The result keeps PSG at the top of their group and extends their winning run as they aim to retain the Champions League title under head coach Luis Enrique.
