US Open: Ashleigh Plumptre celebrates Coco Gauff’s maiden grand slam glory

Nigeria international Ashleigh Plumptre joined the world to celebrate Coco Gauff historic US Open glory.
Coco Gauff won her first career Grand Slam joining the list of incredible winners after an incredible win in the US Open final on Saturday.
The teenager came from behind to beat favourite Aryna Sabalenka 2-6 6-3 6-2 to claim her first-ever grand slam.
The 19-year-old became the youngest American to win any Grand Slam title since compatriot and legend Serena Williams in 1999.
However, she became the 10th teenager to ever lift the US Open in the history of the competition.
She joined Serena Williams, Tracy Austin, Stefanie Graf, Monica Seles, Martina Hingis, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Maria Sharapova, Bianca Andreescu and Emma Raducanu.
Coco is also the first American to win the US Open since Sloane Stephens in 2017. She followed in the legendary footsteps of the Williams sisters as she became the 14th American woman in the Open Era to win the US Open.
Reacting to this feat, the former Leicester City defender took to her Instagram account with a very simple yet beautiful message to celebrate Gauff’s maiden major.
“Unreal,” Plumptre posted on her Instagram stories hours after Coco sealed her first slam.
