Vivian Ikechukwu and Glory Ogbonna heroines as Beskitas silence Fatih Vatan Spor

Nigerian duo of Vivian Ikechukwu and Glory Ogbonna scored a goal each to help Besiktas to a 2-1 win over Fatih Vatan Spor in a Turkish Women’s Super Lig encounter on Sunday.

With a loss and draw in their first two games of the season in the league, Besiktas got off to a flying start with the first goal in the eighth minute.

Former Rivers Angels forward, Ikechukwu broke the deadlock in the eighth minute before the visitors equalised thanks to a goal from Fatma Atas nine minutes into the second half.

In the end, Besiktas had the last laugh as Ogbonna scored the winning goal two minutes from time to open her account for the season.

Ikechukwu took her tally to two goals after three games in the league this season.

The win lifted Besiktas to the seventh position with four points after three games.

Up next for the team is an away clash with Beylerbeyi on September 16.
