Nuno Espírito Santo has heaped praise on Ola Aina following Nottingham Forest’s impressive 3-0 victory over West Ham, marking the club’s biggest Premier League win since August 1996 against Coventry City.
This victory also saw Forest rise to the top three for the first time since September 7, 1998.
The Nigerian international delivered a standout performance, scoring a spectacular goal in the 78th minute. Aina seized on a loose ball, drove towards the West Ham box, and unleashed a stunning left-footed strike into the top corner.
Having started nine of Forest’s ten league games this season, Aina has solidified his role as a key player for the Tricky Trees.
In an interview on the Nottingham Forest FC YouTube channel, Espírito Santo commended Aina for his contributions, saying, “I think we have mentioned this many times, having more goalscorers from inside the team is a good thing. We had good situations.
“I think Nico had a good chance with Lucas Fabianski, even the Soza one. So we are delighted that almost every player has started to believe that he can help the team with goals. This is a very positive and beautiful goal from Ola Aina.”
With this victory, Nottingham Forest leapfrogged Arsenal into third place in the Premier League, following the Gunners’ 1-0 defeat to Newcastle earlier that day.
