Victor Osimhen Aims for Breakthrough at Wolfsburg in Bundesliga’s Second Leg

In the anticipation of the second half of the German Bundesliga season commencing in January, Nigerian prodigy Victor Osimhen expresses optimism about securing more playing time with Wolfsburg. Despite facing competition as the third-choice striker behind Divock Origi and Mario Gomez throughout the current season, the 18-year-old is determined to make a more significant impact on the pitch.

Osimhen, who made five substitute appearances for Wolfsburg in the initial part of the Bundesliga season, refrained from commenting on the speculations regarding a potential loan move away from the club in January. In an exclusive interview with Completesportsnigeria.com, he emphasized his growing involvement in games, stating, “I have been patient, and now I am reaping the reward lately as I have been getting involved in games and not just sitting on the bench.”

Looking ahead to the New Year, Osimhen expressed his belief that his situation would improve, though he remained cautious about confirming any potential moves. “It’s going to be better than this in the New Year. Nothing is certain yet about a move.”

Addressing his aspirations to secure a spot in the Super Eagles’ 2018 FIFA World Cup squad, the former Golden Eaglet and Flying Eagles striker acknowledged the challenges he faces. “It’s going to be tough. We have a good team, and breaking into it will be tough,” Osimhen remarked, recognizing the competitive nature of the national squad.

As Osimhen eagerly anticipates the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, football enthusiasts eagerly await the unfolding of his promising career in the Bundesliga’s second leg.
