Victor Osimhen: Rudi Garcia reveals injury update on Nigeria superstar

Napoli boss, Rudi Garcia has revealed the injury update on club forward, Victor Osimhen.

The Nigeria striker suffered an injury against Saudi Arabia in the last international break and he has stayed back in the country to continue his recovery from the setback after Napoli granted the permission.

The Partenopei manager, Garcia said the Super Eagles forward had an agreement with the club to continue his recovery in Nigeria and the medical practitioners with him have given their assurance of Osimhen strictly following the laid down program and will return to Italy soon.

The gaffer revealed he would have to look at other options to fill in the void created by the 24 year old absence.

“He (Osimhen) made an agreement with the club, I spoke to him through messages, the doctors assure me that he is following the program, everything is fine, and he will be with us next week,” Garcia was quoted by Football Italia.

“It’s not that I don’t care, but whether it’s Osimhen or Russo, injured together, cannot play and therefore I focus on who can play.”

The Italian champions have been a shadow of their achievements last season as they trail league leaders, Inter Milan by seven points.

Napoli will battle Salernitana in their next Serie A clash on November four as they seat on the fifth position on the log with 18 points in ten matches.
