Victor Osimhen is reportedly taking legal action against a Turkish journalist who accused him of assault and bribery, following an incident where the journalist claimed the Nigerian striker punched him in the face.
The allegations stemmed from an encounter where Osimhen, who is currently on loan from Napoli to Galatasaray, was reportedly approached by paparazzi attempting to take photos of him.
The journalist claimed Osimhen reacted aggressively, but the player has firmly denied these accusations.
Osimhen’s close friend, radio on-air personality Onokala Onyebuchi, known as ‘Buchi Laba,’ shared the news on X, confirming that legal proceedings are underway.
“Victor Osimhen has officially sued the journalist who accused him of hitting him. The case will officially start in court tomorrow,” Buchi Laba wrote.
He further added, “As Victor said, if he did hit him, justice will be served. But if the journalist lied, he will face the full consequences of the law. Why spoil his name?”
Buchi Laba also clarified the details of the incident, stating that Osimhen had not been at a club, but rather at an African restaurant, and that he had only asked the photographers not to disturb his private time.
He expressed frustration at the false narrative, especially considering the rivalry between Osimhen’s Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.
The matter is set to be resolved in court, as Osimhen looks to protect his reputation and seek justice.
