Vincent Enyeama reveals reasons for quitting Super Eagles fold

Former Nigeria international, Vincent Enyeama has revealed the reasons why he has stayed off the national team.

The legendary goalkeeper cut his tooth at Enyimba before seeking for greener pastures in Europe and is disgusted way he was treated after resigning from the Super Eagles.

“Sincerely, I’ve not been following Nigerian football right from the day I left [resigned from the national team]. And with due respect, I was treated like a piece of used material,” Enyeama was quoted by Hot Sports.

“So I put up a block between me and the national team. It’s now that I’m beginning to follow what is going on. But I really put a stop to watching football, the national team.

“I was deeply hurt. But now I’ve moved. I can’t really say much about the national team and the goalkeeping because I’m not watching them.”

Enyeama retired from professional football in 2020.
