WAFCON 2024: Super Falcons to play group games in Casablanca s

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Friday the match schedule for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which will take place in Morocco from July 5 to 26, 2025, featuring 12 participating countries, including the host nation, Morocco.

In this tournament, the Super Falcons of Nigeria, who are nine-time African champions, will play all their group stage matches at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium located in Casablanca, Morocco’s commercial hub. The West African team will kick off their campaign against Tunisia on Sunday, July 6, followed by a match against Botswana four days later, and they will conclude their group stage with a match against Algeria on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

According to CAF and the Morocco Local Organising Committee (LOC), the opening match is scheduled for Saturday, July 5, 2025, featuring hosts Morocco facing Zambia at the newly constructed Olympic Stadium in Rabat, starting at 21h00 local time (20h00 GMT).

The following day will see three matches, including the highly successful Nigerian Women’s National Team taking on Tunisia at 17h00 local time. Defending champions South Africa will commence their title defense on Match Day 3 (July 7) against Ghana in a Group C opener at the Honneur Stadium in Oudja, while Mali and Tanzania will conclude the day’s matches with an exciting evening game in Berkane.

The Final is set to take place on July 26, 2026, at 21h00 in Rabat at the Olympic Stadium.

As observed in all CAF competitions over the past four years, the TotalEnergies CAF WAFCON, Morocco 2024 is anticipated to build upon the record-breaking achievements of previous editions, with hopes of exceeding past attendance figures, global broadcast viewership, and engagement on digital platforms.

In accordance with its world-class international broadcast standards, CAF will employ cutting-edge technology to provide live, high-definition coverage of all 26 matches to a worldwide audience through its various television partners.
