WAFU-B CAF Women’s Champions League: Moses Aduku upbeat over Ghana rivalry

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The Benin Arsenals were drawn against maiden winners, Hasaacas Ladies (Ghana), Omnisport Etincelle (Burkina Faso), and AS Garde Nationale (Niger Republic) in Group B.

With previous Nigerian champions losing two of the three finals to Ghanaian opponents, Aduku says he won’t underrate any opponent.

“We have seen the draws. We know that Nigeria and Ghana are age-long rivalries in the round leather game,” Aduku told Edo Queens Media.

“We are going our to Cote D’Ivoire to play football not for jamboree. Every team participating in the Champions League is important. We are going there with one thing in mind which is to play and win. It is serious business for Edo Queens and Nigeria.

“We are not depending on man but God. I’m quite aware that we have a big task ahead of us. My girls are not scared of any team. We are going to war and we are ready to fight.”

The top two teams from the two groups will make it to the semi-final with the winners of the tournament qualifying rot the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Cote D’Ivoire is the venue for this year’s WAFU-B Women’s Champions League Qualifiers as the country prepares to host the third out of four tournaments after successfully hosting the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League and Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
