Captain of Nigeria’s U20 men’s national team, Daniel Bameyi, has shared the team’s determination to retain the WAFU B U-20 Championship title as they prepare to face the Black Satellites of Ghana in this year’s final.
The Flying Eagles previously triumphed in the tournament two years ago in Niamey, Niger Republic.
Speaking ahead of the final match in Lome, Togo, Bameyi, who was part of the victorious squad in 2022, expressed confidence in the team’s ability to defend their title.
“We’re delighted to be in the final again, so there’s one more dance to dance,” he said.
“We need the cup, we need the cup more than Ghana, and we will give our very best to bring it home again,” Bameyi added during a prematch briefing on Tuesday.
The highly anticipated match is set to kick off at 8 PM Nigerian time at the Stade Kegue in Lome, promising an exciting showdown between the two West African rivals.
