Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is on the verge of achieving a remarkable feat as he prepares to make his 30th consecutive start in the Premier League tonight at the London Stadium, where his club Leicester City will face West Ham United. Since his debut in the Foxes’ 3-0 loss to Chelsea on January 14, Ndidi has been an ever-present figure in the starting XI, showcasing his consistency and reliability.
Having won Leicester’s Young Player of the Year award after his first season in England, Ndidi carried his impressive form into the current campaign. Despite the managerial change from Craig Shakespeare to Claude Puel, the Nigerian midfielder has played and started all 12 Premier League games for Leicester this season.
If Ndidi takes the field as expected against West Ham, it will mark his 30th appearance in the most competitive and lucrative football league in the world. The midfielder, who scored twice since his move from Genk, will aim to lead Leicester City to victory, bridging the gap between the club’s wins and losses in the games he has featured in.
Leicester City’s record in the 29 games Ndidi has played since January reflects 10 wins and 13 losses. As Ndidi seeks to maintain his 100% run for the Foxes, his compatriots Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho are facing different challenges. Musa, who has yet to feature in the league this season, and Iheanacho, with limited starts since his summer transfer, will be eager to turn their fortunes around.
