William Troost-Ekong rates Victor Osimhen as the world’s best striker

Osimhen earned this plaudit owing to his goal-scoring form so far with the Serie A leaders as the 24-year-old has scored 21 goals and contributed 5 assists in all competitions for the Parthenopeans this season.

The Nigeria international leads the season’s leading scorer with 19 goals in 22 Serie A league matches, putting  Napoli in pole position to win their first Scudetto in 30 years.

The Salernitana defender extolled the qualities of his Nigerian compatriot following his best foreign athlete in Italy.

“Osimhen is probably the best striker in the world right now. I am happy for him because he has overcome difficult moments,” Troost-Ekong told Sports Italia.

“It’s a very important year for him, he can win the Scudetto, and then he’ll be able to think about the future.”
