Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayodeji “Wizkid” Balogun has praised the Super Eagles for their high energy and positive atmosphere ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda in Kigali.
The Super Eagles, now under the guidance of newly appointed head coach Eric Chelle, have been showing strong team spirit and determination in their preparation for the crucial match.
Recent clips of the team’s intense training sessions and camaraderie have garnered significant attention on social media, highlighting the upbeat mood in camp as Chelle finalizes his squad for the qualifier.
This match marks Chelle’s first game in charge of the three-time African champions, who are seeking to revive their World Cup qualification campaign after a rocky start.
With their hopes of securing a spot in the 2026 tournament hanging by a thread, a positive result against Rwanda is vital for the Super Eagles.
Wizkid, who is a well-known football enthusiast and a prominent figure in Nigerian entertainment, expressed his excitement on social media, sharing his appreciation for the team’s energy.
“New Super Eagles team! Love the energy,” he posted, which sparked widespread reactions from his fans and supporters of the national team.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier is set to take place at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali at 5:00 PM Nigerian time on Friday, March 21.
