Former Super Eagles defensive midfielder, Sunday Ogochukwu Oliseh has praised Ghanaian midfielder, Mohammed Kudus for his skills and creativity at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Ajax midfielder received the encomiums despite Black Stars’ 0-2 defeat to Uruguay on Friday.
Two goals in the first half from Giorgian de Arrascaeta handed Uruguay a 0-2 win over Ghana in the final Group H encounter at the Al Janoub Stadium, Al Wakrah.
The West African side had a gilt edge chance of scoring the first goal of the game after Kudus was fouled by Uruguayan goalkeeper, Sergio Rochet inside the box.
Captain, Andre Ayew missed the resulting penalty before Uruguay scored two goals in six first-half minutes.
Oliseh was disappointed with Ghana’s ouster at the World Cup but stated that the team can now rebuild on the talent of Qudus.
“Just watched Mohammed Kudus; a superstar on which Ghana can rebuild a top Black Star team. Skillful, fast, creative, humble, strong, sharpshooter, hardworking with leadership “on pitch” qualities. Sad for Ghana they lost out, but with d 2nd half line-up today, the future is bright,” Oliseh wrote on his Twitter handle.
The four-time African Champions finished bottom of Group H with three points behind leaders, Portugal (6 points), South Korea (4 points), and Uruguay (4 points).
