Yemisi Samuel scores as TP Mazembe advance to CAF Women’s Champions League Semi-Finals

Nigeria forward Oluwayemisi Samuel found the back of the net as TP Mazembe defeated Tanzanian champions JKT Queens 4–1 to close out Group B action at the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League in Egypt on Saturday.

The defending champions from the Democratic Republic of Congo had to rally from behind before securing a convincing victory that booked their place in the semi-finals.

Stumai Athumani put JKT Queens ahead in the 12th minute, but the lead lasted only 11 minutes before Merlene Kasaj equalised.

Samuel completed the turnaround in the 29th minute, giving Mazembe a 2–1 advantage.

Grace Acheampong extended the lead in first-half stoppage time, ensuring the Congolese champions went into the break in control.

Kasaj struck again in the 66th minute to seal a comprehensive 4–1 win for TP Mazembe.

Samuel was substituted in the 65th minute for Elena Nkuandum, while her compatriot, Rosemary Adesina, remained an unused substitute.

TP Mazembe will now face AS FAR FC in the semi-finals — a rematch of last year’s final, which Mazembe won 1–0 to claim the continental title.
