?BREAKING: Man City confirms deal to sign Erling Haaland

Premier League side Manchester City has an agreement to sign Norway striker Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

In a statement, City said: “Manchester City can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the Club on 1st July 2022.

“The transfer remains subject to the Club finalizing terms with the player.”

City is believed to have snapped the 21-year-old for a fee of around £55m after they triggered his released clause that was earlier believed to be around £60m but has now been revealed to be lower.

Haaland has been one of the most sought-after players in the transfer window with a hosts of clubs having shown interest in getting him. The tussle for his signature was finally left for Real Madrid and City with the latter getting him after a series of negotiations.

Reports indicate that the player has agreed to a five-year deal and will be one of the highest-paid players on the team. Sources say he will be in the same earning bracket as the club’s top earner Kevin De Bruyne, but his contract includes plenty of bonuses that can take him up towards the Belgian’s salary.
