Kelechi Nwakali says Nigeria have a capable squad that can make an outstanding achievement at the 2023 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Super Eagles forward is just returning to the national team setup after being left out since the disappointingly AFCON outing in Cameroon last year.
Nwakali has faith in Victor Osimhen to lead the team to success because he’s the best player in the world as the Chavez midfielder says Nigeria have assembled the best squad for the AFCON.
“I feel we’ve got a very good squad to win the AFCON,” Nwakali was quoted by The Punch.
“This time around, the Eagles will have Victor (Osimhen), he can lead the team to the AFCON title. He is the best striker in the world at the moment.
“I believe our squad is capable in any given game of matching any team. But obviously, it’s one thing having that and another being able to do that consistently throughout a tournament.”
The Super Eagles will battle the dual qualification places in group A of the AFCON with host nation, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau.
