2023 NPFL/LaLiga U-15 Promises: Remo Stars edge Lobi Stars in five-goal opener

The 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL/LaLiga U-15 Promises kicked off on Thursday at Remo Stars Stadium Ikenne, Ogun State with a goal fest.

The opening match saw holders, Remo Stars coming from two goals down to earn a 3-2 win over Lobi Stars.

Lobi Stars raced to a 2-0 lead in the first 25 minutes of play thanks to Kenneth Mshi’s brace.

The junior Sky Blue Stars started the comeback in the 35th minute as Emmanuel Adeboye converted a penalty after Muiz Raheem was brought down inside the box.

Opeoluwa Yusuf lobbed over the goalkeeper to equalize in the additional minutes of the second half.

With virtually the last kick of the game, Seun Ayoola acrobatically scored the winning goal for Remo Stars.

Meanwhile, the grouping for the tournament has been adjusted from five teams per group to four teams, with Group A now houses Remo Stars, Lobi Stars, Bayelsa United, and Plateau United.

Group B comprises Akwa United, Sunshine Stars, Doma United, and Kwara United and Group C is made up of Enyimba, Bendel Insurance, Dakkada FC, and Wikki Tourist.

Rangers International, Shooting Stars, Gombe United, and El-kanemi Warriors are in Group D.
