Four Nigerian officials have been appointed as referees for next weekend’s Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BSAFCON) Qualifiers between holders, Senegal and Guinea.

CAF has appointed FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup veteran referee, Abdeljelili Ogunmuyiwa, Brigadier General Olawale Fawole, and Olayinke Olajide to be in charge of the return leg game.

Abduljelili will serve as referee to be assisted by Fawole and Olayinka respectively.

Ahmad Rabiu on the other hand will officiate as the fourth official.

Winner of the First Pitch award in the best referee category, Ogunmuyiwa has officiated at six FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups with the latest at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2024.

He has previously officiated at the 2008 (Marseille, France), 2009 (Duba), 2011 (Ravenna), 2015 (Portugal), and 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in the Bahamas.

Apart from the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup experience, Ogunmuyiwa has also officiated at four African Beach Soccer Championships.

They include 2015 (Seychelles), 2016 (Nigeria), 2021 (Senegal), and officiated the final match of the 2022 African Beach Soccer Championship in Mozambique.

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Fawole officiated at the Super 4 Finals of the 2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) in Kaduna where Kebbi BSC emerged champions.

The first leg of the game is slated for Sunday, July 21, 2024, with the return leg in Senegal scheduled for the weekend of July 25 to 28.

The winner of the two-legged tie will qualify for the 2024 BSAFCON in Egypt.
