The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is proud to announce the appointment of two Nigerian match officials to officiate at the upcoming 2025 WAFU-B U-20 Boys Cup, scheduled to take place in Ghana.

Salisu Basheer has been selected to serve as a centre referee, while Abdul Majeed Usman will officiate as an assistant referee during the regional tournament. Their selection is a recognition of their performance, professionalism, and growing reputation within African football officiating.

They are among a total of 14 match officials—seven referees and seven assistant referees—chosen from across the WAFU-B region, which includes Benin Republic, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Niger Republic, Nigeria, and Togo.

The full list of referees includes:

  • Ahomlanto Dedjinnanchi Tanislas (Benin Republic)
  • Nikiema Jacqueline (Burkina Faso)
  • Soro Tuonifere (Côte d’Ivoire)
  • Bless Yao Selorm (Ghana)
  • Ali Moussa Mohamed (Niger Republic)
  • Salisu Basheer (Nigeria)
  • Senyo Kossi (Togo)

Assistant referees:

  • Kouton Gbemassiandan (Benin Republic)
  • Traore Daouda (Burkina Faso)
  • Bamba Kalilou (Côte d’Ivoire)
  • Patricia Kyeraa (Ghana)
  • Ali Hamidou (Niger Republic)
  • Abdul Majeed Usman (Nigeria)
  • Agbedanou Abra Sitsofe (Togo)

The NFF congratulates both officials on this significant achievement and wishes them the very best as they represent Nigeria at the prestigious youth tournament. The WAFU-B U-20 Boys Cup serves as a critical pathway for talent development in the region and also acts as a qualifier for the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Flying Eagles, Nigeria’s U-20 national team, will compete in the tournament as the defending champions.
