2024 CAF Women’s Champions League: Edo Queens coach expects hard contest against FC Masar

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The head coach of Edo Queens, Moses Aduku has opined that 90 minutes will determine the outcome of Wednesday’s second Group B encounter between his team and FC Masar (Egypt) at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League.

Both sides won their group opener against Commercial Bank of Ethiopia FC and holders Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies (South Africa), respectively.

A win on Wednesday will give the winning side a bright chance of sailing into the semi-final.

Aduku, who guided the Benin City-based side to their maiden league and West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) titles this year, is expecting a tough contest in Morocco.

“It’s not going to be easy. The other team won their last game against the defending champions. They are a good side. We respect them but are here to do business,” Aduku told CAF TV.

“That’s our behavior and culture. We are happy to play football. The girls are all happy to play football. We will go in and do our things.”

Both sides watched each other’s opening games with the chance of getting to know their tactics ahead of this match-up.

“I know they are going to be determined because they got it against the South Africans but it is a different ball game,” He continued.

“The game against South Africans is gone likewise the one against the Ethiopians. This is a fresh game, idea, and technique. They watched us and we also watched them. 90 minutes will decide.” He concluded.

The two teams are debutants in this competition to make an impact.
